New Year's Eve celebration in Serbia which promises to be DIFFERENT

Biljana Mohan

“Slowly preparing for a New Year's Eve celebration in Serbia which promises to be DIFFERENT - as we connect with the sacred presence within, we will expand on that through a 2h long Conscious Dancing session, followed by the Bliss of Silence meditation. From the sacred space of silence and love supreme within, with full clarity and sense of higher purpose, we set the intention for the New Year... All are welcome.” - Devi

Biljana Mohan

On behalf of the Mohanji Foundation, the first disciple, acharya, and a wife of Brahmarishi Mohanji, Devi Mohan herself spoke at the 2018 Parliament of the World's Religions.

Edited version of the key parts of her speech can be viewed here .

For its 2018 theme, the Parliament of the World's Religions drew from the movements of goodwill and cross-cultural respect that are embodied in the spirit of the interfaith movement: “The Promise of Inclusion, the Power of Love: Pursuing Global Understanding, Reconciliation, and Change”. This was the 7th Parliament of the World’s Religions and this year it will feature more than 500 programs and events across six major tracks. Expected attendance exceeded 10,000 persons of faith and conscience from 80 nations and more than 200 unique spiritual backgrounds.

On November the 2nd, Devi Mohan, on behalf of the Mohanji Foundation, presented at the panel “Interfaith Peacemaking Perspectives from Across the World”. Alongside other eminent peacemakers from across the world, Devi convened in this important panel discussion to highlight the importance of interfaith peacemaking through selfless service and one’s of life. Question & answer session followed the panel presentations.

Devi’s presentation was also shared via Facebook live video on November 2nd.

Parliament of the World's Religions is the oldest, largest, most diverse and inclusive global interfaith event created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world and its guiding institutions in order to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world.

The 2018 Parliament of the World's Religions was hosted by the city of Toronto from November 1st through November 7th, 2018 at The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

First held in Chicago in 1893, the Parliament of the World's Religions brought together the world's religious and spiritual communities, their leaders and their followers to a gathering where peace, diversity and sustainability are discussed and explored in the context of inter-religious understanding and cooperation. Mohanji Foundation is honored to be part of the event which gave voice to some of the greatest leaders in history of humankind: Swami Vivekanada, Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Jane Goodall, Sri Chinmoy, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and many more.

Mohanji Foundation ( is the global organization dedicated to enabling people to live a harmonious, liberated life. The Foundation is formally registered on 4 continents, and his followers are present in more than 25 countries. It was set up by Brahmarishi Mohanji, a globally respected spiritual leader and philanthropist who nevertheless prefers to refer to himself as an ordinary man. A consummate family man and an erstwhile corporate professional, He maintains that one can continue to evolve spiritually, while simultaneously living and experiencing everyday life.

The core of Mohanji’s teaching is liberation from all bindings, concepts and habits of life. His emphasis is on purity, faith, unconditional love and selfless service towards fellow beings across species and all man-made barriers.

On 8 July 2018 Devi Mohan conducted a morning Yoga session as per the program of HSTY in Split, Croatia. Even though this was a morning right after World Cup when Croatia played (and won!) and majority of Croatian citizens were up until very late at night in celebration frenzy :-), the turnout was good and Yoga (followed by a beautiful experience sharing, Conscious Dancing and Power of Purity meditation) was received really well. Some people could see aura colours with naked eyes for the first time, some released certain blockages effectively for the first time - overall, the merry group would not disperse till late in the afternoon.

Gratitude to Damir from "Studio One", who hosted HSTY in his beautiful Yoga studio in Split this year as well.

Special gratitude to our amazing "Vege Mama" Ivana Surya who surprised all with a beautiful HSTY vegan cake- which disapperead right after the photo!

January, 2018

HSTY completed its first Teachers Training course (level 1) in Ganeshpuri, India on 29th Jan, 2018. Over 10 days, 28 students from 8 countries were trained in various aspects of traditional yoga - asana practice, pranayamas, yoga theory, yoga philosophy, teaching methodology, anatomy & physiology and several other aspects.

The yoga training was held in the midst of pristine nature in the homely Fire Mountain Retreat Centre in Nimboli, near Ganeshpuri. Due to the location being a spiritual power centre, the group also had a unique opportunity to visit powerful spiritual spots in and around Ganeshpuri, experience a session of Awakening Yoga Nidra conducted by Devi Mohan, several guided meditations from Yogacharya Sanjay and enjoy various sessions of chanting and bhajans.

The course was conducted by an experienced faculty team comprising of Devi Mohan, Yogacharya Sanjay, Usha Laksminarayanan and Dr Gajanan worked hard to share their rich experience and knowledge with the budding teachers.

The course was intense with a 10-11 hour daily routine. Through group practice and study, the group bonded well to form a global family of traditional yoga. The program ended on a high with a special video message from Brahmarishi Mohanji congratulating the participants and inspiring them to move forward with conviction and purpose.

This being Level 1 of the Teachers Training course, the students will need to go through Level 2 as well, before they can be fully certified as teachers.

Highlights of the program captured through some pictures
