Selfless Service (Karma Yoga) goes hand in hand with a genuine practice of Yoga and the Yogic lifestyle. One act of sincere expression of pure, unconditional love without expecting anything in return deepens the meditative state, expands us from within and offers the fulfilling taste of the Self more than hours of any other spiritual practice.
Selfless Service is the fastest way to deepest inner fulfillment possible – it leads us to embracing the highest possible version of ourselves, the Divine in us.
Don’t feel happy about your life? – Serve the helpless and see the difference. Not happy with your financial situation? – Donate 10% of your monthly income (no matter how small that may be) to charity and see the difference. Don’t believe it? The answer is simple – just give it a try! Have your own experience.
ACT Foundation has been created with the intention to celebrate this direct experience of inner transformation through Selfless Service and to inspire others to join us in creating a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate than us.
This brief video speaks better than words what ACT is all about:
At the same time, through ACTs of Service, we are changing our own ‘karmic blueprint’ in accordance with which we experience life on Earth. As we increase our positive karmic ‘bank balance’ through Selfless Service, we elevate ourselves to higher levels of purity, which is a pre-condition for an inner shift towards higher awareness and liberated existence.
Various spiritual practices, meditation, prayer, contemplation, etc. are all important for spiritual elevation, but nothing comes close to Selfless Service. After doing any form of Selfless Service, you will inevitably experience that any spiritual practice you do suddenly becomes far more effective and the feeling of lightness, joy and inner peace simply floods the inner space.
If there is one common denominator, one platform that connects all the religions and spiritual paths to self-realization, it is Unconditional Love experienced through Selfless Service.
I have met many people who, when prompted to do Selfless Service, respond with a question “And what do I gain from that”? The very question shows the level from which one operates – self-centeredness, which is a recipe for a sad life of unfulfilled desires and delusion. What one feels after serving the less fortunate is indescribable and immeasurable.
It is the nature of Love to expand – our hearts, our vision, our purpose of life and sense of fulfillment and joy. Indeed, only Love is real. Whatever is measurable is temporary and thus limited to physical existence alone. Love is the bridge to our soul, Love is who we Are! Choose to serve that Love and witness your life blossoming at all levels. Serve others unconditionally and wholeheartedly, and witness the transformation within you.
Most people would love to serve others, but don’t find the time to do so – or at least that is the excuse our mind comes up with. Mainly it is our own inherent inertia that prevents us from reaching out to others or from responding in the spirit of Service spontaneously when small opportunities to serve come our way. Sometimes we require that little nudge to overcome this inertia.
That is why any service/charity initiative becomes much more effective when we join forces with other like-minded people – we reach out to more people, ensure we identify genuine cases of people who require our help and we ensure that help reaches them without any funds being misused.
ACT Foundation is one such genuine platform for pure Selfless Service, based on the principles of Love and Purity, beyond all man-made barriers including religion, nationality, race, etc. ACT Foundation’s main slogan is “ACT now!” – do not miss an opportunity to serve others and transform your life just because of inertia!
When everything is good and stable in our life, we take it for granted that this is something we will enjoy forever. But that is never the case. Life will surely present us with many ups and downs and many challenges. As was my own experience during the war in Former Yugoslavia, within one day one can shift from an affluent person to a penniless one, dependent on Red Cross and people’s good will. When one becomes so helpless that even basic needs are not met, it is unimaginable how utterly precious one kind word/gesture/donation becomes. It makes all the difference in the world. One loving word can ignite the divine spark within a helpless person and help him/her regain faith in humanity and determination to make something out of his/her life.
Charity work is never about giving basic necessities to the needy – it is about empowerment, inspiration and uplifting the spirit by demonstrating through action that there is someone out there who genuinely cares.
You are welcome to join us in the ACT world of service, unconditional love and sharing of loving life-transforming experiences – there are no membership fees or formalities. The only prerequisite is an open heart and a sincere desire to serve.
In Service, Love and Light,
